The previously unknown rapper, Lil Wayne, has broken most music records with his latest rap music CD, Tha Carter III, which easily broke the one million units sold during the first week. A feat not easily attainable in any music market, especially the music market of today, where hip-hop and pop rock dominate the charts, placing rap music CDs a step below on the ladder. But Lil Wayne’s rap music CDs have been a really hot commodity since he released over 77 songs on what he called mix tapes in 2005-2006. This catapulted the former small boy rapper to superstardom in a relatively short period of time, and his record label, Capital Music Group, could not be any happier with the sales of the rap music CDS. If you thought that Lil Wayne has it all made, think again. The rapper was busted last year at the Arizona/California state border with all sorts of drugs and paraphernalia and faces Arizona state charges that could set him behind bars for years if convicted. On the upside, he has more than enough money to pay for a brilliant defense attorney.
