Call me an old fogie, but I have to wonder why anyone would want to listen to rap music. What I hear when I see someone in a nearby vehicle listen to rap music is this jarring bass and percussion in a hypnotic inducing rhythm which is not only annoying to other drivers, I have to wonder how the driver of the car is able to maintain control of his vehicle and listen to rap music at the same time.
Now I'm not totally square. I'm a musician myself and play a great deal of loud classic rock when I perform with my band. However even the loudest of classic rock songs have a melody and an intricacy that I do not hear in rap music. People have told me, just listen to rap music and you'll see. Well, I like my eardrums in one piece and most people I have heard listening to rap have the music turned up way beyond what we musicians experience onstage. I guess I'm just an old fogie and glad of it.
