Rap music. You either love it, or you hate it, or if you live with a rap lover, you will either learn to love it , or you'll learn to hate it. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of middle ground with rap music, and the new rap music is really a spin on something very, very old. That's just a bit of something I'd like to bring up--rap music has very old roots. Most people seem to think that new rap music is a spanking new thing--born out of this culture--a new entity. Well, the lyrics are certainly new, but they too have old roots--very human roots. You can go back and read about the plots that make up many rap song lyric lines in ancient stories: Greek, Egyptian, Roman, Elizabethan--human nature doesn't change/hasn't changed. Furthermore, the beat of rap (do you ever really listen to rap music beats?) music, well, that beat has been around forever as well--it's an old beat and an old rhythm--with a slightly new twist thrown in. So, new rap music with old roots? You bet.
